What is Physical Therapy?

Physical TherapyPhysical Therapy is used to address muscle or joint pain, physical limitations, and to restore improve balance within the bady. In children with special needs, Physical Therapy can be delivered through purposeful play, manual muscle stretching, therapeutic activities, or exercises to restore muscle balance and functional mobility.

Physical therapists use a variety of treatments to help build strength, improve movement, and improve coordination of skills needed to complete daily activities.

Physical therapists can help:
   - developmental activities such as rolling; crawling and walking
   - strength training after an injury
   - flexibility exercises to increase range of motion
   - balance and coordination activities
   - instruction on how to avoid injuries
